How to read the result
- Size: greener is smaller. Aim for a model phone users can download over cell signal; over 15 MB you are in the slow lane.
- Textures: the embedded texture weight, in KB/MB. 2048×2048 mobile textures are a common cap.
- Vertices/meshes/materials: complexity proxies. More is not better — it is decode cost.
- Format: USDZ alone does not give a web viewer everything a GLB does — keep both.
A model can look perfect in Blender and still be a poster frame on a phone. This GLB auditreads the model's container bytes and scores it against practical storefront budgets — file size, vertex count, mesh/material counts and texture weight. Failing audits do not need a rewrite: most come down to texture compression, oversized exports, or a missing optimization pass. What web budget makes a product-page model ship-safe?
Practical starting numbers, not a law: whole model under ~4 MB for mobile, over 15 MB Shopify auto-optimizes but performance drops, textures on mobile capped at 2048×2048, and vertex counts kept low enough that phones decode cleanly. Treat those as directional, not regulatory.
Why is it called a PDP audit?
PDP is the product detail page. The audit is what you would run before a model goes from an export on your laptop onto that page.
Does it upload my file?
No. Parsing happens in your browser on the bytes you picked. The page never sends the file anywhere.
What if my file is USDZ?
USDZ reports its size and format only. Mesh and texture facts require a GLB/GLTF, so audit the GLB version when you have one.
