Peka AR vs Meshy
TL;DR
Meshy is an AI generation tool. You pay $20 a month, a mesh comes back in minutes, and everything after that (cleanup, hosting, the viewer on your product page) is work you do yourself.
Peka AR is a managed pipeline instead. Our AI drafts the model, an artist finishes it, and you get a hosted embed with AR in hours, at a published price.
If you want raw geometry to remix in Blender, Meshy is the better tool and this page will not pretend otherwise. If the model has to go on a product page this week, the gap between a mesh and a finished, hosted asset is the whole comparison.

Peka AR figures come from our pricing page: AI pipeline costs 2 credits per model, artist production 10 credits per model.
What Meshy does well
Meshy has spent its money on generation. Text to 3D, image to 3D, PBR textures, auto-rigging, and plugins for Blender and Unity, all behind a $20 plan. Exports cover every format a game or printing workflow asks for, including GLB and USDZ.
The free tier is genuinely usable for trying the product: 100 credits a month, which works out to about three image-to-3D generations at 30 credits a task. Free output is public and CC BY 4.0, so commercial use means crediting Meshy. Paid plans make the output private and yours, and Pro includes unlimited downloads plus an API.
For prototyping, for game assets, for a hobby print, this is the right tool. It is cheap, fast, and broad.
What a mesh still needs before a product page
Meshy’s own e-commerce page tells you to export GLB “for a model-viewer embed” and USDZ for iOS AR (meshy.ai/use-cases/e-commerce, accessed October 2026). The formats are there. The hosting, the viewer, and the AR button on your storefront are not part of the product.
Then there is the file itself. A photo shows one side of the product, so the unseen sides get inferred; logos and labels warp; heavy exports stall on a phone over cellular. Shopify’s partner guidance asks for models near 4 MB with textures capped at 2048×2048 (Shopify partner docs). Hitting those numbers from a raw export is the cleanup pass, and it takes Blender skills or an artist. The image-to-3D guide breaks down the four failure modes.
That is the split: Meshy sells generation, we sell the finished, hosted model. Different products, same photo as the input.
Price, side by side
Meshy: $0 with 100 credits and attribution, or $20 a month for 1,000 credits, private output, and unlimited downloads. At 30 credits per image-to-3D task, that is about 33 generations a month before the cleanup work starts.
Peka AR: $0 with 6 credits (three AI drafts a month), $25 for 50 credits, $50 for 100. Artist production costs 10 credits a model, so Premium covers five artist-finished models a month with hosting and AR included.
The honest overlap: if you were going to generate drafts in Meshy and then pay someone to fix them, that second step is where the two prices stop being comparable. Cost routes are laid out in the 3D model cost guide.
Peka AR is the better fit if you
- Sell products and need the model on a storefront this week
- Want GLB and USDZ, a hosted viewer, and AR without assembling them yourself
- Would rather upload photos than open Blender
- Prefer one published price over a tool plus a cleanup project
Meshy is the better fit if you
- Want raw meshes to modify in Blender or a game engine
- Are prototyping rather than selling
- Already have, or enjoy, the cleanup workflow
- Need rigging or print exports more than a storefront embed
Common questions
- Is Meshy a good Peka AR alternative?
- For raw mesh generation, yes. Meshy is cheaper per month, faster per model, and exports more formats. For a storefront-ready model with hosting and AR included, no: Meshy offered neither as of October 2026, so the real comparison is tool versus managed service.
- Can I put a Meshy model on my Shopify product page?
- Yes, once you finish it. Meshy exports GLB and USDZ, which Shopify accepts. The finishing pass stays with you: likeness, texture fixes, and Shopify’s file guidance (near 4 MB, textures at 2048×2048) all need Blender work before the model is shopper-ready.
- What does Meshy cost compared to Peka AR?
- Meshy runs $0 (100 credits, CC BY 4.0), $20, $40, or $100 a month. Peka AR runs $0 (6 credits), $25, or $50 a month, with artist production at 10 credits per model. Meshy charges for generation; our price covers finishing, hosting, and AR.
- Does Meshy have AR for shoppers?
- It exports the files AR needs (GLB and USDZ) but hosts no shopper-facing AR viewer as of October 2026. You wire up Quick Look and a model-viewer embed yourself. Peka AR includes both, delivered as one iframe line.
